Lost and Found

Rediscovering Faith in Everyday Life

It’s Easter Sunday and it is the day the Lord has made - as they all are. I read this article today from Vogue and it inspired me to write this blog post. The image is linked to the article so definitely read the full piece. If this Easter Sunday you have considered creating space for God in your heart but don’t know where to start, here a three simple ways.

Music

I don’t know if you’re like me but I have a playlist for every occasion of my life. That includes multiple gospel playlists ranging from chill to old school. There are some times where you may be feeling something but have no clue how to put it into words - that’s where music comes in. Sometimes, it may be too hard to pray, so why not try a song? Here is one of my playlists that is a mix up of gospel songs - I have many other playlists that I’d be happy to share!

Podcasts

You may be experiencing something in your life and want some advice on how to handle it - podcasts are great! It’s tricky because anyone can pick up a mic and blab online so it’s not easy to find one you trust, however I listen to “To My Sisters” Podcast which covers many real life topics with real life advice on how to handle it in a way that the Bible says. There are also online sermons that you can listen to, one of my favourites is Sarah TD Jakes. Take your time and find one that speaks to you - but be careful, don’t just look for people that say what you want to hear, search for what you need to hear.

Community

This is really the biggest one. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, you don’t have to do life alone. I’ll go as far as saying you are not supposed to do life alone. God said, it is not good for man to be alone - that doesn’t only apply to marriage. I won’t even say find your people because what does that even mean in this scenario? As crazy as it may sound - pray for your people. Last December, I prayed and asked for friends that share my love for God so we can grow in our faith together. That prayer was answered in January and this community is incredibly precious to me. I just spent my Friday evening singing praises for three hours straight with 1300 people and it was one of the best things I have ever experienced in my life! Iron sharpens iron, a friend sticks closer than a brother - there are so many instances in the Bible where God stresses the need for community. Life can get hard, and we can feel down, which is why why need others to lift us up. If you are starting your journey again or for the first time, make it personal, but don’t do it alone.

I can’t not use my platform to share God’s love that I feel every day, especially today! I hope these were helpful to start you on a beautiful journey. Make sure to subscribe via email below for updates on more blog posts!
