I am spilling the tea on all things fashion, media and lifestyle…

Heyyyy, it’s me. Sakina! The face behind the text. As a growing media girly, it’s my job to be objective - but on this blog, I guess I can tell you a bit about myself..

About me

I’m of Guadeloupean and Ghanian descent, but born and raised in the fashion capital known as London. My childhood consists of loose sheets of paper full of designs that I would sketch but never make, multiple attempts to become a model (I had to get over that one) and textiles - I guess you could say that I always knew I’d find myself in fashion. If you haven’t noticed, I LOVE tea! I’m not sure when my tea craze began, but I know it has no end.

My Journey

I’m currently a freelance Marketing and Communications Coordinator at Renaissance Movement, as well as a content creator, presenter and fashion journalist. I studied at London College of Fashion where I got a First degree in Fashion Journalism and Content Creation. I started posting TikToks in my bedroom for fun and have been fortunate to make a living from that with a content creation portfolio including: Hope Macaulay, Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, Karla Otto to name a few.

Do I know for sure what career will look like 10 years down the line? No. But I do have an idea of what I want it to look like. So why not tag along my journey as a fashion media girly sailing the seas of runways, articles and microphones.

My Aspirations

As a writer and content creator, my goals are to use my perspective to shine light on what I believe is important and should be valued. I am a big advocate for championing the creative arts industry, with a focus in fashion. I see fashion in everyday and that’s why its important to me. I want to use my media to show fashion’s relevance in politics, economics, our global social landscape and so much more.
