Are you graduation ready?

Am I even graduation ready? 🙈

Graduation season is around the corner and there are a few things to consider. I am someone who likes to be prepared as much as possible for events like this to ensure the smooth running of the day. So I have spent some time collating things you will need to remember or plan ahead of graduation. In this blog post, I will briefly describe each, but this will become a series where I deep dive into each point. This one’s for you, graduating class of 2025!

Do not leave this one until last minute. Make sure to plan what time you want to arrive and work your way backwards. I will go into more depth in the following blog post, but your graduation really is a while day, it is more than just walking across the stage. You should incorporate the time it takes to take photos before, leave your family to their seats after teary goodbyes and of course put on your cap and gown. You cannot make it just on time on the day if you really want to be present and wish through all the things that make this day a day.

The look

This is the obvious one that I don’t really need to spend much time elaborating. This is the outfit you are going to remember forever. Don’t think about what is trendy or what your friend is wearing - make sure it is something you love and are comfortable in. Pick a hairstyle that is your favourite or body glimmer that will make you shine. It’s your day so make sure you own your look from the outfit, to the shoes and accessories. As a bonus, why not get a special perfume as apparently, scent helps you remember moments more vividly - what will your graduation day smell like?

Content

Even if you are not someone who posts on socials, this point is still for you. This is a key moment in life (I won’t exaggerate and say it’s the most important day, because…well, it’s not). You are going to want to look back on this day. If you have guests coming with you, why not designate a photographer in the family to capture you throughout the day, if not an actual photographer.

If you are someone who loves making content, maybe you can spend some time planning what your content will look like ahead of time. Will you make a cinematic short film, or a photo diary in your scrapbook? I love TikTok so I have already made a folder with all the trends I want to recreate on the day. Maybe you want to do the same.

Post celebrations

After you walk across the stage and throw your caps into the air, the adrenaline will be high. What better way to process it with some planned post celebrations. I stress planned because if you think you can just walk into a location restaurant, I’m telling you now that chances are it will be packed. Making reservation gives you peace of mind as well as something to look forward to. You don’t want to be waling around central London in heels for a good meal and end up in McDonalds for convenience.
